Acrylic Sliders are useful for housing directory information that can easily be changed at a later
date. Sliders are used primarily in office buildings, hospitals, laboratories or other large institutions. The slider backer is often used for labeling room numbers, while the slider insert might have a specific name listed. The insert slides into the backer window, making it removable and easily replaceable if the information displayed needs to be changed later.

Available Options
Style Options:
There are numerous styles of Sliders available in the general market; however, Gemini only offers
what is called the T-Slot Slider. This slider option has both a window and an insert that span the entire width of the acrylic backer, allowing full sliding capabilities from edge to edge
Material:
Sliders are only offered in Flat Cut Acrylic.
Slider Shapes:
Slider Backers can only be square or rectangular shaped.
Slider Windows and Inserts must also be rectangular shaped and extend fully edge to edge on the backer to allow full T-Slot sliding capabilities.
Partial Windows and tabs are not something currently offered.
Slider Colors:
Slider Backers can be pigmented or painted as the base color.
Slider Inserts can also be pigmented or painted as the base color.
Slider Parameters
Flat Print Both the slider backer and/or slider insert can have Flat UV Colorlast print.

The slider backer can have full coverage print.

The slider inserts cannot have full coverage print as the sliding mechanics will cause scratches under the window lip. Only the exposed portion in the window can have print.

The milled window cannot have any print. The printer will not print the recessed area and the slider insert will cover it.
Raised Print Both the slider backer and/or slider insert can have Raised Print

Note: Raised print on slider inserts is limited to only the exposed portion in the slider window. Raised print cannot go edge to edge on the insert, as it will not fit under the window slot.
Second Surface Print:
- Clear backers with second surface print are not advised as the milled window and all
returns and edges will appear scuffed from production routing. See below ‘Clear’ notes - Clear inserts with second surface print are not advised as the print on the back of the
insert is likely to get scratched as it slides into and out of the window-slot.
Clear Acrylic:

Clear Acrylic Slider backers are not advised as the milled window and all edges will
appear scuffed and cloudy from production routing. Production can make it; however,
be informed that all edges will appear frosted and not fully clear. - Slider inserts can be clear acrylic if there is plan to place printed paper behind them.

New inserts can be ordered at a later date, as long as Gemini produced the original slider backer.
Braille
Braille added to backer is ADA compliant. Braille added to slider insert is NOT ADA compliant as the piece must be securely fastened and cannot move.

Backers can be produced with an eased edge
Multiple Windows
Multiple windows on a single piece is possible, with some restrictions
Prepped for Paper backers
On request, Gemini can route additional space for printer paper or cardstock behind a clear insert.. If paper or cardstock will be inserted behind the insert, please inform Gemini, so that the routed section can be made larger to accommodate.
