What is chemical etching?
Etched thin gauge plates are made by chemically etching artwork onto a sheet of metal.

We etch by printing images and graphics on the metal sheet with print resist from a UV printer. The print resist safeguards the white space around the artwork from being chemically etched. The plate sits in acid for a set amount of time and then is cleaned, painted, and baked.
