How small can precision plaques be?
Precision plaques can be as small as 2 inches by 2 inches.

Can precision plaques be made with a border?
Precision plaques can be designed with or without a border. They are available in twelve standard border designs and can be made with custom borders.

Background Colors
What background colors can I have on my precision plaque?
Precision plaques can be painted in a selection of standard plaque paint colors or with your custom paint color.
Multicolor paint can be applied upon art review for additional cost.
Note: A combination of paint and direct Colorlast print, for additional cost, may be available upon art review. An excellent solution for application of full color photos or fine logo detail to precision plaques.
Note: Our standard paint colors for plaques have a satin finish.

Finishes
What finishes are available for precision plaques?
Precision plaques offer a selection of standard and specialty finish options for your made-to-order plaque.
- +50% for a polished face. Size limitations apply.
- +20% for a polished bevel edge. Size restrictions based on shape, size, and border choice.
- +125% for double-sided plaques.
- Multicolor paint may be available for additional cost with art review.
- Direct Colorlast print, or a combination of print & paint, may be available for additional cost.
- For bronze and brass plaques only
- +15% for a chemical oxidized finish. Maximum size of 18 inches by 24 inches.
- Alternative oxidized is no additional charge and is available for larger sizes than chemical oxidizing.
- For aluminum plaques
- +15% for flash bronze coated aluminum. For interior applications only.
Typeface/fonts
Can precision plaques be made in a custom font?
Yes, precision plaques can be made with custom fonts. We also have a standard selection of fonts for precision metal plaques.
Note: Precision plaques require customer-supplied vector art for portraits, images, and custom fonts. A Word (.doc) file is required for text if Gemini is to typeset with a standard font style.

Install Environment
Where can I install precision plaques?
Precision plaques are for interior or exterior applications.
Painted backs for harsh environments would be recommended, for additional cost.
Note: Some specialty finishes may be available for interior use only.
Clear Coat
We have four clear coat options to seal your plaque for a long-lasting installation.
Satin: Standard on brushed, painted, oxidized, Colorlast printed finishes
Gloss: Standard on polished finishes.
Semi-Gloss
Matte
Note: A clear coat for harsh environments is available upon request at no charge. Gemini recommends that you request this clear coat for plaques that are installed on posts, stakes, fences, gates, benches, or other applications where the back will be exposed to the elements. Blind stud mount, screws, or thru hole mount is required for this option.

Note: Plaques installed on stucco require a spacer on studs. A minimum of 1/4 inch standoff required for all precision plaques.
For uneven surfaces, tape the mounting pattern of the hole locations to a piece of cardboard or foam core before drilling the holes for the screws. When using an adhesive to accompany the installation, use of a stronger construction-grade adhesive or epoxy is recommended.
Stake Mount for Precision Plaques

Garden Stake Mount A garden stake mount includes a coated black stake and screws for assembly to the plaque. Minimum plaque thickness of 1/4 inch required. Up to two stakes are available for a single plaque depending on the plaque size. The minimum plaque height required is 4 inches. The maximum plaque size for a garden stake mount is 12 inches wide by 8 inches high for one stake or 20 inches wide by 8 inches high for two stakes. Machine screws through 5/16-inch thick black stakes are placed into the back of the plaque. Additional cost to be applied. |
Post Mount for Precision Plaques

Post Mount A post mount includes black coated aluminum brackets attached to the back of the plaque by machine screws. The square aluminum post, coated black, bolted into the aluminum bracket is at a 45˚ or 90˚ angle. Minimum plaque thickness of 1/4 inch required. Plaques over 575 square inches, and/or 24 inches wide, require two posts. Additional cost will apply. A 1-inch post is on a 4-inch by 6-inch bracket. A 1-1/2 inch post is on a 5-inch by 7-inch bracket. A 2-inch post is on a 6-inch by 8-inch bracket.

Tip: We offer rosettes. Additional cost will apply per rosette if ordering separately from the plaque or if using the rosettes as decoration instead of screw covers. Learn more about them here.
Shipping
- Oversized shipping charges apply for 8-foot posts.
- Plaque size with dimensions of a single dimension of 36 inches up to 79.9 inches will have oversized shipping charges.
- Plaques sized 80 inches or larger have no guaranteed ground freight.
