Letter Layout Options for Dimensional Letters

When ordering a letter-only sign, the way your copy is arranged can have a significant impact on both the appearance of the finished sign and the installation pattern used during mounting. If artwork is not provided for a letter-only sign, selecting a layout preference helps ensure your sign is produced exactly as intended. Below are the most common letter layout options available for free-form text orders.

     Normal Spacing and Alignment
All words appear on a single line using standard letter and word spacing. This option works well when sufficient horizontal space is available, and no special alignment is required.

  Left Justified
Words are stacked on multiple lines and aligned along the left edge. This creates a clean, structured appearance and is often used for names, departments, and multi-line messaging.

     Right Justified
Words are stacked on multiple lines and aligned along the right edge. This layout provides a more distinctive visual presentation while maintaining a clean edge alignment.

     Stack and Center
Words are stacked on multiple lines and centered relative to one another. This is one of the most popular options for letter-only signs because it creates a balanced, symmetrical appearance.

     Vertical Align - Normal Spacing
Letters are arranged vertically rather than horizontally. Letters are stacked from top to bottom using normal spacing. This option is often used when installation space is narrow or when a unique design treatment is desired.

     Per Art
Select this option when you are providing vector artwork that already shows the desired text arrangement. Manufacturing and installation patterns will follow the layout shown in the supplied artwork.

     Custom
Choose custom when your layout does not fit any of the standard options above and you have no art. Examples may include diagonal text, staggered lines, angled arrangements, or other unique design treatments. Creating artwork or instructions may be required to ensure the layout is produced correctly.
